The people /-employees are nice,.. and the service is good..(didn't have to wait too long,.. etc),.. but their prices are outrageous!
Need a couple filling due to a couple of cavities,.. but each filling is over $300 dollars and my insurance (Delta Denta) only covers about $88 dollars & the rest is "out of pocket." One root canal costs over $3,000 dollars. It's ridiculous!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for the kind words about our team and the service we provide. At Rotem Dental Care, a standard root canal does not cost $3,000; however, a root canal done by a root canal specialist, along with core build up and crown can come close to that amount.
While Delta is a big company, each employer chooses the level of coverage for particular procedures. Once we have the detailed insurance information, our computer system estimates what a patient’s insurance is expected to cover based on their past payments. Not all fillings are the same. The more surfaces, the more intricate the filling is; thus, the more it costs. Please feel free to contact us directly for further questions and we’ll be glad to help. - Deana D.Toms River, NJ322Mar 26, 2024
worst dental practice ever. especially Dr. Amin. they do NOT care about their patients one bit. all they care about is money and then when you do have money they still will leave you in pain for weeks on end!!!!! wouldn't even take my hamster there!!!!!!

We're truly sorry for your frustrations. When patients are in pain, we are required by state law to check which types of medications we can and cannot prescribe to them. While we are very sympathetic to what they are going through, we are restricted in the types of medications we can prescribe. If you'd like to contact us directly we'll be glad to speak with you about this.

Ohhhhhh these statements are 100% true. Who said anything about an emergency charge? The $295 was what I was charged for the initial office visit and X-rays. Below is a screen shot, from Rotem dental. Speak with your patient coordinator Allison. Also speak with your office manager who I called and told her about this disaster of an experience.
Instead of offering an apology I guess it's expected that Rotem Dental is trying to say that "they can't located this patient". What about all the other negative reviews? Are they fake as well?
Your practice is a joke and I'm calling you out on it. You don't want these reviews, than don't be so sketchy and just plain bad.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello. We are unable to locate a patient by this name, and many of the statements in this review are not an accurate representation of our practice. For example, an emergency visit is not $295. We offer a bone graft if a patient wants to replace a tooth with an implant, however, whether they choose that route is up to them. We send X-rays to other offices frequently; sometimes it can’t be done in that moment but we are always happy to facilitate such a request. And sometimes a situation warrants antibiotics prior to any treatment being done in order to achieve the best possible outcomes. If you have additional concerns, we invite you to contact us directly. Thank you.
Jun 20, 2023Previous reviewHopefully you're reading this and the other reviews BEFORE you decide to go to Rotem Dental. I was a returning patient. My first visit was back in August 2022. I had gone there initially because I had an infected root canal tooth and it was extremely painful. Rotem Dental was the only one that was available to see me the next day (you'll see why as you keep reading). I had thought that Rotem Dental would help me with my pain and infected tooth when I went to the appointment. Instead, I was making an appointment to make an appointment to have the tooth pulled. I was given a prescription for 800MG of Ibuprofen and Amoxicillin. I had severe pain and had to sleep with an ice pack on the side of my face because it hurt so much. They didn't care.
I had enrolled with Delta Dental. I handed the girl my card and she told me a price (I don't remember but it was a few hundred dollars less). Another girl came over and looked at the card and told me that my coverage didn't start until the following month and told me the price would be $295 for the initial visit and xrays, $400 for the bone graph (which was not needed by the way) and $500 for the tooth extraction. I was told that it would have been less if my dental insurance was in effect.
Fast forward to last week June 13, 2023. I made an appointment because I had cracked a molar. Again, the appointment wasn't to get the work done, it was an appointment to make an appointment to get the work done. Prior to
my appointment I had received numerous texts and emails requesting to confirm my appointment, which I did. I arrived 5 minutes early yet I waited 30 minutes to go in. After xrays were taken, a dentist came in to briefly look in my mouth and said the tooth had to be pulled. Then another girl came in to explain the cost. She said that I was self pay(meaning I didn't have insurance). I told her that I do have Delta Dental insurance and she pulled up a copy of my insurance ID card on the screen in the room. At that time she said "It's In-Network only". I said "So Rotem Dental is not In-Network?" I was told "No"
So why wasn't I told this last year? I was told the girls at the front desk really don't deal with the insurance stuff. Yet when I signed in I was asked "Any changes with your insurance". I replied "No".
I was again just given a prescription for Ibuprofen and Amoxicillin. Since Rotem Dental doesn't accept my Delta Dental insurance I wasn't gonna pay another $1195. I was charged $85, for an office visit for nothing. They couldn't even grind down the sharp edges of the broken tooth that was rubbing against the inside of my cheek.
Bottom line here, Rotem Dental is a Dental Factory. There are about 10 rooms that different dentists work in. You don't know who will be seeing you. All Rotem Dental is concerned with is your money. They throw commercials on the radio about "exceptional care". Seriously???
No referral to another dentist and when I found another dentist, Rotem Dental told me that they weren't able to send my X-rays over to the other dentist. They sent them to me via email, I sent them to the new dentist. Don't fall for the fake over the top show. Stay away! - Boni D.Toms River, NJ02Mar 19, 2024
First appt. to re-clue a crown, waited 45 min in dental chair for dentist. Second visit for a cleaning, waited an hour and 15 min in dental chair, for dentist after cleaning, told dentist dont do examination, never returning, told her how long I was waiting, all she said, they are understaffed. This place is like a factory line , by 10:30 there was almost 50 check in pt signatures. Took 3 phone calls to get my xrays emailed to my new dentist. Terrible! I would never go there again, or recommend this place!

Thanks for taking time to share your feedback with us. For your first visit, we were able to get you in as a last-minute emergency. When we get someone in last minute, it is more likely that there could be a longer wait to be seen. We did our best to be as timely as possible, and feel you were satisfied with the care we provided. For your second visit, that is not typically like us where the patient has to wait that length of time for a scheduled exam; we regret that you did not receive our best that day. We invite you to contact us directly if you have additional questions.

Every single bad review on here is dead on. I'm sorry I did not review this before the visit. This is a conveyor line of poorly trained staff, and unethical business practices. Maybe most people don't notice and that's how they stay in business...but wow this was really bad. Go elsewhere.

Last year we followed our Dentist from a different practice to her new position at Rotem. The service was very good and of course we loved our Dentist.
At the 6 month mark we returned for our cleaning and exam and we're told our dentist was not in that day and we had to see others in the practice. Ok, I guess my fault even though we previously booked the visit with our Dentist scheduled as the provider. They told us they would put on our file we only want to see our dentist as the provider.
Next cleaning we smarten up and call the day before to make sure our dentist will be in to service us. We are assured no problem. So we show up for the appointment and of course our dentist isn't there....she comes in later. We are offered the opportunity to wait. My wife waited....I'm history.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We’re sorry you feel frustrated with your experience. Your preferred dentist was scheduled to be in for the latter part of your appointment, which didn’t really require a wait. While we make an effort to accommodate requests to see a certain provider, we try to offer our patients greater flexibility and shorter wait times by giving them the option of not waiting for a particular provider if they don’t want to. We invite you to contact us directly if you have additional questions or concerns. Thank you.

Dentists are good, Hygienists are good.
Accounting is the problem here.
You can expect to pre-pay for service here, that is policy .
You can also expect accounting on a third grade level.
Every visit ends with an error in accounting. Errors in data entry, credits mis-applied and payments not captured. I spoke with Dr. Rotem about these problems during a routine visit and he told me to speak with him If II they weren't reconciled. After a recent visit I wasted time speaking with a young woman in accounting who could not reconcile a previous payment. I told her I would call back the next day when a supervisor was available. I spoke with accounting on the phone the following day and was on hold with several people for about 15 min. Finally a woman picked up and I asked if she was an accounting supervisor. She gave me a ridiculously long title that had nothing in it about accounting and I asked her if she was a supervisor. Condescension and attitude followed and the conversation ended with asking for Dr. Rotem to return my call.
I have not heard from Dr. Rotem.
I have a pre-paid account with un-used funds in it. I am choosing to walk away rather than have a stroke dealing with self important un-qualified people with attitude.
And all of these problems were simple math.
Yes, they are that bad!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

We appreciate you taking time to share your feedback with us, and appreciate the kind words about our team. However, we are not aware of what your accounting issue was. You qualified for our Individual Dental Plan, which provided you with a discount on many procedures. Our accounting supervisor is not in every day, although we often have several people who can help with those questions. If you would like further clarification on our discount plan we invite you to contact us directly and we’ll be glad to review that with you again.

We make numerous attempts to collect insurance information. It is a fairly simple process; most patients send us a copy of their insurance card. When an insurance card or any insurance information is not presented to us (even when we ask numerous times by phone and email for example) we have to assume the patient does not have insurance coverage. Many patients who do not have insurance purchase our in-house savings plan, which gives them multiple discounts on treatment. When they purchase our plan – as was done in this case – that is often a clear sign to us that the patient does not have insurance coverage. Nevertheless, when a patient acquires insurance midcourse we submit the paperwork and claims to the insurance company on their behalf. We are then able to reimburse them for any monies the insurance paid on their behalf. The paperwork and claims can be submitted anytime, so when a patient has been able to get their insurance benefit retroactively, we are still able get the insurance payment on their behalf. And at our dental practice, we always review with every patient their full fees and treatment to be performed, so that there are no surprises. If you would like to discuss these and any other concerns in a professional manner, we would be happy to do so.

I went there for veneers as my front teeth were chipping and I also wanted whiter teeth with the veneers. I had the veneers done there in June 2023 not by Dr. Rotem. I had one I tooth that had an old veneer on it because the tooth never grew in. When the veneers were made I was told that he had to make that tooth and the one next to it attached because he said the tooth was loose. I never had a problem with the old veneer tooth being loose. I also was offered colors for the veneers that were not as white as I would like. I told them I would bleach the lower teeth. But they still only showed me two colors and the dentist asked his assistant what she thought about the color.
The veneers threw off my bite and I could not chew on the left side because my left bottom implant became loose after this and another bottom tooth was hitting the veneers that were attached which caused pressure on the two attached veneers. I went back and Dr. Rotem removed the loose implant tooth and told me it would be $4000 to replace the implant. I was also told that the tooth on the bottom that was hitting the veneers could have a cap put on after they shaved the tooth. That would cost about $2000. I asked them to check my insurance and they never go back to me. They took no responsibility for the problems I encountered with the veneers.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We take responsibility and stand behind the treatment we do. We are not able to take responsibility for failing treatment that was done elsewhere. Often teeth are splinted together to give more strength and durability - not because the restoration (like a veneer) is loose, but rather because the tooth itself has some mobility issues. We often do this so the teeth and treatment done will last longer than if we did not do it that way. We do not move forward with any treatments in our office without the patient confirming they are happy with the plan. especially when it comes to things like shade selection for veneers.

I paid $6,500 out of pocket for dental work while my insurance was being ran. A year later no money had come back to me. Insurance fraud! I called 5 times and get rushed off the phone saying a manager will call me back and never did.

We are not certain as to who this patient is, but we are happy to give some insight here. Our computer system will estimate what your insurance will pay. Your copay is the total cost of the treatment minus what the computer estimates your insurance will pay. If your insurance did not pay the estimated amount, you are not due a refund. On the other hand, if your insurance paid more than the estimate amount you are due a refund. These payments are made after your treatment has been completed and all the insurance benefits have been submitted. We would be better able to help you if you could contact our office directly, and we encourage you to do so. Thank you.
