Dr. Ronen Rotem Recognized for His Generosity Ocean of Love, a nonprofit organization in Toms River that aids families whose children have cancer, is honoring Toms River dentist Dr. Ronen Rotem, Millennium Broadcasting, and Josephine Corbiscello at Ocean of Love’s 2009 PSA Dinner, Saturday evening, February 28, Crystal Point Yacht Club, Pt. Pleasant, N.J., for their outstanding contributions to Ocean of Love. (Ocean of Love helps families with expenses, such a mortgage payments, gasoline, tolls, food, etc.) Even though Dr. Ronen Rotem practices adult dentistry, he generously donates his time, his energy, and his money to educate children and parents, and especially helps the families of children who have cancer. In recognition of his efforts, Dr. Rotem was named the 2007 Healthcare Hero in a competition sponsored by NJBIZ. Lawrence M. Kluger, president of Journal Communications, New Brunswick, said at that time, “His title may be dentist, but Ronen Rotem has had more impact on his community than just being a dentist. In all that he does, Ron Rotem demonstrates generosity. He is generous with his time, his energy, and his money, working to educate children and parents, and to help the families of children who have cancer.” To help Ocean of Love, Dr. Rotem hosts two events each year. From March to June each year, Dr. Rotem participates in the annual teeth-whitening campaign, “Smiles for Life.” During this period, he donates 100% of the money he receives to children’s charities, specifically Ocean of Love. In addition, Dr. Rotem sponsors a second annual event, such as a dinner cruise or a casino night, for which he pays all expenses and then donates all of the money raised to Ocean of Love and the FoodBank. Over the past three years, Dr. Rotem has donated more than $8,000.00 to Ocean of Love. Linda Gillick, director of Ocean of Love says, “He (Dr. Rotem) is just one individual trying to make a difference, and I think he is a phenomenal person. He is an asset to our community because of his talent as well as his generosity to so many.” For additional information or tickets to the dinner, contact Linda Gillick at 732-270-3500
